Gua Tempurung is place where I'll passed by whenever I'm going to visit my Uncle in Kampar. A place that I've learn thru histories but I've not been there until.................07/06/08 !
Besides the many famous caves such as Kek Lok Tong, Perak Tong n etc.... Gua Tempurung is also another famous limestones cave located in the Silver State (Perak). I come across the chance to Gua Tempurung when Val told me that she's organizing a trip there. We are to gather at Val's office at 8AM. We are being brief a lit'l abt the trip before we start off. We started with a treasure hunt to occupy us thruout the journey. We reached the cave ard 10 sth and have a photograph section before Val proceed to purchase the entry tkts. If not mistaken our tkts is RM11.00 for stage 3.
We have to wait for quite sumtime before we start caving. Our section start at 11.00AM. Before we start off, our tour lady named "Zaleha" ** If not mistaken** did a prep talk. Kita akan bermula...... blah ! Blah ! Blah ! Dlm gua sgt gelap dan bukan gelap biasa........ blah ! blah ! blah ! Berhati-hati.... Saya jln u jln, saya rangkak u rangkak... Blah ! Blah ! Blah !...... Bro kei whom can't under BM well ask us what's she talking abt. Sitt n I simplified it to two words, Be Careful. Wakakaka.....
I bring along a btl of water n a small torch-light. It's superb super dark, wet n slippery inside. We walk thru a bridge to go inside the cave then we need to climb down to the river. I decided to throw away my btl as it's so inconvenience to br'g it along with me. Then we need to go thru a few obstacles. The first few ones are still ok for we can walk by just bending ourself a lit'l. As we are deeper into the cave, the obstacles are tougher. We need to crawl inside and we are to be extra careful as it's dark. As I'm in a short pants, the journey is not easy. The stones are not those round soft type but sharp n uneven type. OMG ! It's really killing my lit'l knees. After a few crawling we are to squat-walking oooh ! *Use your own imagination to think how we do it** We really need to bend pur body really low to go thru the holes. Then, we are to slid like a croc to go thru the last 2 toughest one. My knees n elbows are really suffering pain but got no choice. Need to carry on as there's no emergency exit or turning back at this point ! So, we are totally wet from Top to Toe . Life is a lit'l easier after that whr by we can walk juz with a lit'l bended body. Eeerrrmm.. journey doesn't end there. The tour lady bought us to a slope where we are to do sliding. OMG ! IOt's abt a meter high. She start it off to show us the correct way of doing it. Then we heard a loud "boop" n i guess she lost her balance and it's not a perfect ending. After, we slide down the slop we are to go thru a small hole then climb up. It's the same hill before we slide down ! We started to mumble lol.... WTH ???? Then we are to climb up 200++++... of staircase ~ 8 storeys to reach to the TOP OF THE WORLD ! The highest point of the cave for some great views but all that we see is just limestone everywhr lol. Then. of course we are to walk down the same amt of stati case to go out of the cave. Without sufficient of oxygen supplied to my lungs, I felt like puking. Totally exhausted !!!!!! We are finnally out from the cave at 2 PM. (~ 3 hrs tour)
We are really dirty so we quickly go to grab our bags to clean-up before driving back to Ipoh for a lunch then Sayonara n take a good rest to everyone lol :) Anyway, a new adventure for me, Bro Kei, Sitt n Val. I shud said it's a great trip but I dun think that I'll ever go there again lol. Some places are good for just one visits. Hahaha ~~~ And now after 2 days, my body are still aching terribly lol :)
Note : I hrd from frens that there are s stage 4 named Grand Tour. This stage, participants need to dive in order to get to the other side. I heard it's a U-shape and U'll find a great water fall awaiting for u lol :) I dun think I'll go for this cuz I can't swim lol :) The journey is abt 3 hrs ++ to 4 hrs !!!!!!!
